Thing you must set in game menu or change if you want You can check the Readme.txt or the image Then launch the shortcut, Click on launch game if needed and enjoy! If everything is working as it should, run the program with the new shortcut created on your desktop. (For the steam version for instance: \steamapps\common\Jedi Academy\GameData) Run the Configurator, and click on install, then select your gamedata folder then click on the open button. Now it's time to tell you a secret the mod we just installed is not fully functional! We will fix that and enhance it!ĭownload it (file tab and manual download) and uncompress anywhere you want. You should have the message " joystick cvar enabled - XInput mode" The two first lines are for the screen resolution, the 3 other are for the fov and the widescreen support and the 2 last ones are for the stick sensitivity Now you can add the lines in it to set the resolution and many things! In my documents\My Games\OpenJK\base and create a file called autoexec_sp.cfg Uncompress it in gamedata, you should have a openjk_sp.x86.exe and jamp.exe in the same place Reset your keys to default if you made any changes I've simply used the antimicro engine and the autoit language. Close the "post" section because I was tired to answer people who had AV problems or never read descriptions tabs and think the moders own them everything. If you have any problem with the program, It's probably your AV or you choose the wrong folder or something like that. You have to take 10 minutes for configure and install some pre requisite and then the only thing you'll have to do is launch the game with the shortcut on your destop. It's not fully finished, there's few bugs and I've only tested it on my pc for now, but I'll still work on it. Plus with open jk you'll have the possibility to easilly play in 4K or DSR 4k (nvidia), have real analog controls, and I plan to add vibration support on future releases.Īnd if you're enyoy it, please endorse or consider paying me a beer. I had problems/bug with dpad and a button and few bugs too so I found a workaround that I wanted to share. It's based on the Jedi Academy controller support mod that is a modification of open jk. I spend hours on it when the game was released but I am a bit older now and I enjoy playing with a controller because I am a bit lazier too! So as I started looking for a solution to play with a controller but I found nothing that's working perfectly so here we are. That was kind of disappointing as I was trying to read through different mission briefings.Allow you to play with a controller fully functional I tried every control available on the Joy Con and nothing would move that block of text. ![]() ![]() My third grievance is that there are segments of text that you need to scroll through to read all of it, but I couldn’t find out how to scroll it. Thankfully, you can adjust the sensitivity of the controls which seems to help, but still doesn’t feel great. Second, the game was made for a computer and the controls just feel a little clunky (or should I say, Maclunky?). I highly recommend going into settings and immediately turning them off. First, motion controls are on by default for whatever reason. The most disappointing thing to me was that even the logos were fuzzy and low-resolution. It’s not terrible, but one could always dream of some touch ups. ![]() ![]() The visuals haven’t really been touched outside of providing support for the widescreen format of modern televisions. So, the first odd thing to me was the fact that the game feels like an old PC game even though I wasn’t sitting at my computer. I downloaded my copy, went to play, and it just felt odd. I’ve played a little on the PC years ago, so I was crazy excited to relive the excitement. Aspyr launched Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy last week on the Nintendo Switch and PS4 and they were kind enough to send me a copy on the Switch.
